Buyer signal
Why your offer gets attention but no buyers.
Attention says that something was noticeable. A purchase says the problem, promise, timing, trust, and price aligned well enough for someone to act. Treat those as different signals.
Diagnose the gap
| Observed signal | Likely question |
|---|---|
| Views without clicks | Is the promise relevant and specific? |
| Clicks without checkout starts | Is the product concrete enough to justify the price? |
| Checkout starts without purchases | Is there payment, trust, or delivery friction? |
| Compliments without action | Are people being polite rather than expressing demand? |
Test the smallest explanation
Choose one likely cause. Keep the rest of the funnel stable. If you suspect the promise is vague, test a narrower promise without changing the price and audience at the same time.
Example
Broad: “Grow your consulting business.”
Testable: “Turn one uncertain sales question into a measurable 14-day experiment.”
Set a decision rule
Decide what evidence would make you continue, revise, or stop. A clear rule protects you from overreacting to one comment or continuing indefinitely because the page received traffic.
